This week, I’m writing a post for The Wall St. Journal on how to build an advertising business on a free platform.
To do that, I’ll show you how I did it.
I’m going to use an ad platform to showcase my video game, Call of Duty: Black Ops.
A bit of background: my game was released for iOS on June 2, 2018.
I launched the app on June 8, 2018, and received an email on June 12, 2018 that my app was downloaded 1,000,000 times in 24 hours.
Now, let’s go over the process of creating an app on a platform that’s not available for free.
The process of developing an app is the process I used to develop Call of Duty: Black Edition.
The process is as follows: 1.
Create an ad.
I chose to build a free game for iOS and Android.
2.
Marketing.
The app was targeted to iOS users, so it was designed to target them.
I also had it tailored for Android.
3.
Developers.
One of the biggest advantages of an ad-supported app is that you don’t have to worry about creating the perfect product or brand.
The developers get paid for their time, and I get paid to develop the app.
4.
Platforms.
My app was developed on an ad free platform because it had very minimal advertising and was not in beta.
This platform allowed me to get as many users as possible, and it also allowed me the freedom to focus on building a compelling game experience.
5.
The Process.
I started off with a single page ad.
That meant I needed a video and audio for the first page.
After I had a couple of users playing my game, I decided to add a second video and a second audio.
After that, it was just the same ad.6.
Video.
I spent about three weeks on this project.
This was a very easy step because it was already done.
The only thing I had to do was select the audio and video from the video player in the iOS app.
7.
Design.
When I was designing the game, the design was very simple.
I just wanted the game to feel like a video game.
8.
Testing.
After I finished designing the app, I did a quick test on Google Play.
My app received 1,200,000 downloads in 24hrs.
9.
Release.
The game was finally released on June 25, 2018 and has been downloaded over a million times.
This was a great experience, but it wasn’t a game that would go anywhere.
So, I moved on to creating an advertising platform for a free app.
