Creative work is in high demand right now, with more than 5 million job openings posted on the job site LinkedIn in the last two years, according to a new report.
And the job creation opportunities for creatives are just getting started.
“We believe that creative content creation is a global phenomenon, and we’re seeing a huge amount of talent find their way to our platform,” said Jeff Hickey, the head of content strategy at The Onion.

The new report, which focuses on the United States, is based on interviews with more 30,000 creative professionals, according the authors.
The job market for creativeness is so good, that more than two-thirds of respondents say they are “very interested” in being a creative worker in the United Kingdom.
But the report found that creative talent is also finding work elsewhere.
“In the UK, it’s easy to be drawn to creative work and a great place to get a job.
However, it can be difficult to find a creative job with good pay and perks,” said the authors, citing the fact that creatives who are offered a position in the UK often do not have the skills necessary to build a successful career.
Hickey said that the UK is also experiencing a “tremendous” talent shortage of creatives, which he said is driving a high demand for talent in the U.S. The authors say that The Onion’s creative team is making a difference by bringing in talented artists who are already familiar with the brand and culture.
“I can’t tell you how many people have been inspired by The Onion,” Hickey told CNNMoney.

According to the report, creatives can expect to be paid between $30,000 and $45,000 per year, depending on the type of work they do.
Creatives who can work from home can expect up to $80,000.
The report also found that the average annual salary of a creative professional in the US is $90,000, compared to $66,000 in the Netherlands.
